Hamburg-based shipping company Claus Peter Offen (CPO) has entered into an agreement with Singapore-based maritime software developer JiBe to implement its ERP system on its fleet of 34 container vessels.
The deal was agreed following completion of an evaluation process involving systematic analysis and the production of a feasible go-live plan. That plan has now been put into action following the agreement of the contract.
“CPO has in the past, and continues at present, to view technology as significant element in the future of ship management,” said Dr Arnt Vespermann, CEO of CPO.
“While our existing systems were performing their functions in a satisfactory and stable way, the premise of our discussions with JiBe were to explore the future of the work process and work experience in shipping, and the alignment in the vision of the two leadership teams inspired the decision to proceed with this project.”
Founded in 2013, JiBe is a provider of an integrated web-based ERP, with approximately 1700 vessels currently using its applications.
